Okay Kaya talks about growing up black in Norway & some other stuff

Okay Kaya sat down with an annoying white person to talk about shit:



- Kaya on where she's REALLY from: "I was born in New Jersey... [whispers] don't tell anyone."

- Kaya says she wanted to move out of Norway for a long time because growing up in the 90s she and her siblings were the only black people on the whole island. It was a homogeneous place so she dreamed about moving to London and New York. She says the most annoying thing for her growing up in Norway was being othered. She was very conscious of the fact that she didn't look like the other people in Norway; people would patronizingly keep telling her that the way she looks was okay and that her reaction would be, "...of course it's okay??"

- Kaya on what it's like to perform: "When I'm performing I feel like I'm in the nude, cry-wanking in front of everyone."

- Kaya may or may not be blazed during this interview.

- The interviewer talks way too much about herself in general and seems to be one of those ppl who mistake liking weed for having a personality.
