John Schnatter was fired from his role as chairman of the board of Papa John's, the fast food pizza restaurant he founded, in mid-2018 after audio was leaked of him saying a racial slur during a conference call. He's now claiming he was set up.
- Admits he said the slur, but said he did it to convey how much he hates racism.

- Says Steve Ritchie (the CEO Schnatter hand-picked to replace him), and Olivia Kirtley (a member of the board) plotted against him to steal his company.

- Says the company has lost more executives in the past year than he lost in 10 years, and he's talked to half a dozen executives who are unhappy with how the company is running.
- Says the pizza has gone downhill, because he's eaten 40 pizzas in the past 30 days and they've all been terrible.

- He ends the interview by saying, "stay tuned, the day of reckoning will come, the record will be set straight". When the reporter asks why not do that now, he laughs and says, "stay tuned".
